This article is part of our series: The Logitech G27 Racing Wheel for Casual Racing Gamers. Here, You’ll see how to correctly configure and calibrate your G27 racing wheel.
This article assumes you have connected your wheel and installed the software from the disc to your PC. This includes both the drivers and the Logitech Profiler .
Solid Tip: Your new Logitech G27 Racing Wheel is not powered by USB! Half of the tech support requests for this peripheral all revolve around users forgetting to plug their power adapter into the wall outlet.

Step 1: Logitech Profiler Global Device Settings
This is where you should start once your new wheel is installed. Select Options > Global Device Settings and simply leave everything unchecked. That was certainly easy! The one change you should note here is Degrees of Rotation. Set this value to 900. This is the maximum rotation of the wheel.
Don’t worry: Each game will have specific settings where you override the global value. Not everyone likes 900, so the default is set at 200. This provides an arcade driving experience and is nothing like a real vehicle. I change rotation depending on the game I’m playing.
Step 2: Add Game Profiles
Now we need to enter our games into the Profiler. Select New > Profile OR Select A Game > Create New Game Profile. Enter any name at the top, then Browse for the game’s .exe file. Finally, select the icon to represent the game. Now your new game will appear in the list under Select A Game.
Step 3: Cusomize Specific Game Settings
The last step in calibrating our games based on their features. Since it is the game developer’s discretion to accommodate peripherals, not all games support all the features of the wheel. For instance, most games don’t have support for the new LED shift indicator lights and cannot accept separate pedal inputs. Logitech offers Specific Game Settings to help you enjoy your wheel more.
Select a game from your profile list from Profile > Select Profile OR Select A Game. Then select Edit > Specific Game Settings. Here you will override the global settings if needed. We set up the Global Device Settings from Step 1 in a specific manner so that your final choice is applied here. For example, if you had selected ‘Report Combined Pedals’ in the Global Settings, then they would always be combined, even you left the option unchecked here.
To find your proper Specific Game Settings, refer to this article’s Table of Contents at the top. You will also find details about feature support and tips on in-game settings such as ‘Linearity’ or ‘Steering Bars Sensitivity.’ This article covers over a dozen of the top Racing Games over the last 3 years.
Allow Game to Adjust Settings
This is the most cryptic setting available in the Logitech Profiler. Seeing as how there is no manual, how is one supposed to decipher the meaning of this box? Also, why is it listed under another box, ‘Use Special Game Settings,’ which has no other options? This is a new feature that you should simply ignore. Here is what Logitech officially had to say:
This is a new mechanism that allows games to ask for the current settings (such as: “Are the pedals combined or separate?”). A game can also adjust those settings, so for example, rFactor could adjust the steering angle to match the angle of the simulated car, or force separate pedals even if people forgot to turn on separate pedals. The idea is to make it easier for people and reduce the amount of setup work they have to do. Right now, there is no game shipping that makes used of this feature, but we hope that it will be used in future versions.

i cannot find any games .exe in the profile..i have connected the wheel on my laptop then turned on my ps3…when i create a new file nam ten start browse i could not find the exe..how do i put a link on the game that is in ps3 not in my laptop?
newgamer77, are you trying to play a game on the computer or the PlayStation 3? The PS3 does not involve a computer at all.
ROFL not laughed so hard in a long time… PC…PS3 Trying to plug into both??? HAHAHAHHA
my g27 does not work in lfs and when i did the install something went wrong ang i dont have all tha degrees….
Nikos, anytime you plug your wheel into the computer it should bring up the Logitech Profiler at the bottom right in the Windows taskbar. If your Profiler did not install correctly… reinstall it.
profiler doesnt install in windows 7 64.. what a waste of money.. should of stuck with my 14 year old TSW..
no help on this at all in logitechs forums..
John it works fine on win7 x64. Did you correctly install the wheel first?
wheel was busted on delivery,, thats why i came to this page for info.. gearshift was busted and clutch. thus i hope why the software didn’t install, although it said it was installing it DID NOT install a file onto the hard drive. and to the knob below… this comment.. i think u r wrong.. and working for logitech lol.. a TSW lasted me 14 years.. solid.. but anolog just wouldnt cut it any longer so now this plastic piece fo crud.
Hate it when people that clearly know nothing of what they are talking about give damning reviews! this steering wheel and pedal set is EPIC and it works on XP, VISTA 64/32 and 7 64 not tried windows 7 32 but…. You get my point, not logitechs fault if idiots cant install there drivers =D GO BUY Well worth an upgrade from my momo pedals many moons old!
how can i calibrate G27 on my PS3? please help.
When using your wheel on the PS3, you are limited to the in-game options of the particular game you are playing. There is no configurable software or PS3 menu settings.
Most of the time when i try to use my G27 steering wheel is not working. is there any particular calibration process that needs to be done? please help.
Here is a list of compatible PS3 titles – PS3 Compatibility List.
Then make sure you have the wheel powered in a wall outlet.
Then make sure the wheel is set as Controller #1 by doing either:
1. Start up the PS3 using the button on the console, then use the wheel to control the PS3 before a controller
OR
2. Press the PS button once in game and change the controller assignments there. If your wheel is Controller 2, and your PS3 gamepad is controller 1, simply press the PS button on the gamepad, and put that in controller port 2. That will force the wheel to be controller 1.
I just Bought a Logitech X-210 Speakers , and Just wondering how the hell do i mount em onto wall 🙂
If you buy me a set, I will figure out how to wall mount them and tell you.
how would i change my settings on G27 for my xbox 360? would i do this on the profiler?
The Profiler is PC software. If you use the G27 with a console, you are limited to the game’s own options menu.
This G27 series of yours is really awesome. Is there any chance for it to feature the F1 recent games (’10/’11) someday?
Sure I will grab a copy of the 2011 version and prepare an article
How to setting the clutch?
I mean the cluth MUST to be push to move the gear shift?
Can u tell me?
For most games, you do not have to use the clutch pedal to shift gears. Every game is different.
If Games Like This
Nfs Carbon
Nfs Hot Pursuit
Nfs Shift..
Is This use Clutch?
And Then How To Setting The Manual Gear
Like 1,2,3,4,5,6 in this game?
Thanks for your answer recently
I cannot understand your question. Try to use Google Translate.
And One More…
Are The Older Nfs Can be play too like
Nfs underground2?
Nfs most wanted?
I have not tried to use the G27 with those older NFS games, but it will probably work fine.
I am sorry
I mean the games like :
Nfs hot pursuit
Nfs Carbon
Nfs shift
Can we play this use manual and clutch?
And if we want to use manual
How to setting it?
I show you how to setup each game in it’s own article. Just follow the instructions for the game you are playing.
If I follow your instructions ..
Can it be use manual shift?
Solidystated
I want to ask:
If I set the degrees to 270 to Logitech G27
It would lock or we can still turn around the steer to 900
Or it would lock to 270 and we can’t turn it to 900
The G27 will continue to turn past 270 and will not lock. It would make no difference how much farther you turn past 270
What is the difference of
Paddle Shifter And H Shifters?
Thank you
paddle shifters are sequential – up and down 1 gear at a time. H shifters have a direction to push for each gear at any time.

Hi, I have installed the drivers for my G27, i go to the control panel, open the g27, try to calibrate, turn the wheel, press the clutch, throttle or brake pedals and nothing worksé im at a loss… pls help
Be sure the wheel is powered and unplug any other devices.
I have done so, deal is, it detects it, evens says it’s okay. yet when you go to the wheel test page, on there the wheel does not function, clutch wheel or any function as a mtter of fact. odd.. i’m not good at this stuff obviously, only used it for my ps3… 1st time i try to use it for my pc.
When the wheel is powered by an electrical outlet and you plug in the USB cable, the wheel should perform a self-test where spins full left, full right, then back to center. The light on the shifter should be bright solid green afterwards.
Also check to make sure the shifter and pedals aren’t plugged in backwards.
Finally, next to the calibrate tab in Windows (which is not working for you) is the “About” tab, which will list your driver version and Profiler version.
Thanx mate! finally got it to work, been a great help!! 😀
Hi what a very nice article thanks for your effort to make such step by step guided tutorial on how to setup your G27 Logitech controller. I tried to to ask for guidance from Logitech support themselves but was not much of great help really considering its their product , instead I was asked to search for blogs online and youtube videos which kinda put me off after spending £240 on this product.
Anyway back to my question I wanted to know if you know how to do Configure a profile or solid settings using G27 steering for Euro Truck Simulator 2, I have checked the game list above and it’s not listed I hope you will be able to help me.
1. Logitech profiler
2. Global Device settings
3.Specific game settings
4.ETS in game controller settings
Thanks
Took awhile, but this article is live now

Hello, thank you for your wonderful articles. I wonder if you can write about the settings for Logitech G27 with “City Car Driving”.
Blessings, Martha
Hi Martha, I will get a copy of this title (version 1.2) and see what I can put it together. It might take a couple weeks, though. Still have Euro Truck Simulator ahead of this.
hi. just purchased logitech g27 which works fine for 10 minutes then computer crashes, no Dvi signal (only playing race sim on computer) windows crashes, but will restart on command, then crashes again. after 10 min., not sure if it is the wheel or the computer. Could it be computer heat related? H ave played flight sim on same computer for hours with no problem. Does g27 use more from the computer? Any help would be appreciated
Try a different game and see what happens. This will show you whether it is hardware or software-related
Can you, please help me? i have like 4 profiles for different games but when i play i know im playing with the *general settings*, i mean … the profile doesnt work…, can u plz help me? :/ i dont know what to do…
