This article explores the full set of graphics options available in Crysis 2 for the PC, going beyond the basic settings of Gamer, Advanced, and Hardcore.

For the record, my Core i7 system with a GTX 470 ran 50-60 fps on Hardcore setting.

Normally you can only select 3 graphics options: Gamer, Advanced, and Hardcore. These settings are simply like Low, Medium, and High.

For those of us who want a little more control over our graphics settings, a fan-made utility has been developed (and revised a few times) to allow you that control.

This file is fan-made (I appreciate the work, by the way) and I make no guarantees about it. I do know that I tested it and it works legitimately. It is quick and easy to use.

How to Use

  • Download it safely from SolidlyStated: Crysis2Graphics1_4.zip
  • Unzip the file
  • I recommend putting it in your game folder
  • Run it
  • Select your game root folder (such as C:\games\Crysis2 for me)
  • choose your options and hit “Apply”.

Important Notes

This program creates “autoexec.cfg” in your game folder, which remembers your graphics settings. If “autoexec.cfg” already exists, delete it first.

Works fine with any shortcuts you make with Crysis 2. However, delete any target commands you may have put on the shortcut as they will override the autoexec.cfg that is created.
