Users have reported seeing blinking trees on the screen in the new release Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (PC).
Large tree sprites (images) continuously flash on top of multiple other plant objects endlessly, completely ruining the gameplay experience.
If you are experiencing this, the fix is simple. This bug is apparently caused by the use of ALT+Tab
to switch out of the game window.
While this issue will likely be solved in a patch soon (which will hopefully solve the dead zone steering issue!), simply do not use ALT+Tab
in the meantime.
Update 08/22/2011: It has been corroborated twice that you can overcome this bug by lowering your shadow level in the graphics options.
Can also be temporary fixed if you take a snapshot while driving.
Emphasis on temporary. Similarly, if you pop in and out of a menu, it stops for a few seconds.
Additionally, you have to be online to take a snapshot, which is no good if you are using the dead zone mod to fix your steering wheel.
It has nothing to do with Alt+Tab, cause the bug happens even if you dont use Alt Tab, and it only happens on certain parts of the track (most of time on shortcuts) and at night, maybe the headlights have some influence, on the cop missions it happens more often, maybe again cause of too many headlights.
The patch didnt fixed it also, a shame!
Alt tab is the cause for everyone else, so how exactly does it “have nothing to do with it?”
I can race for hours and never see it any problem. The moment I hit Alt tab and come back into the race, it’s glitching. 100% of the time.
it’s easy to fix the glitch just adjust the shadow level and boom! the problem fixed.
omg decreasing shadow level worked! Cheers mate.
