A new exhibition from the Smithsonian American Art Museum is set to run March 16, 2011 through September 30, 2011.
The Art of Video Games explores “the 40-year evolution of video games as an artistic medium, with a focus on striking visual effects, the creative use of new technologies, and the most influential artists and designers.”
The Smithsonian is seeking immediate votes to help make up this artistic exhibit. You need only an email address to sign up and nothing else.
They are selecting 80 different games that span 5 eras of gaming that will represent this exhibit.

Voting is open from February 14 – April 7, 2011.
The selection on the ballot was chosen by curator Chris Melissinos, with help from an advisory group of developers, designers, and journalists. The public can cast votes for 80 games from a ballot of 240 choices among the various eras. There is a limit of 1 vote per category. The winners from each genre on each system will be the exhibition.
