After killing hundreds of Nazis while leaning around corners, I finally figured out why I had not gotten my Kills from Cover perk in Wolfenstein: The New Order.

While we FPS gamers are usually very astute, this challenge has people scratching their heads and throwing out misinformation, such as “you can’t aim down the sights when shooting around cover…”

The Problem

The Kills from Cover perk for multiple weapons does not seem to be properly counting kills when you use Left ALT to lean around pieces of cover and shoot enemies. You know something is working because you are getting credit every now and then, but it doesn’t make sense.

The Solution

Solid Tip: There is a white arrow that appears next to your cross-hairs to indicate you are properly aligned to use cover. Additionally, your gun will tilt up to indicate it.

You can’t just lean around any corner. What the game never tells you is that proper “cover” engages automatically when you hold Mouse 2 to aim and you will lean out without Left ALT. This is what you must do to score the perk.

Do not manually lean. Look for the arrow, then aim and fire.
