Core i7 870 Settings 2.93 GHz
The second test simulates the Core i7 step up- the 870. The 870 runs at 2.93 GHz. This is achieved by simply raising the bus speed from 133 to 140. This setup is included in the BIOS of the ASUS P7P55D series. If your CPU can’t handle this setting, please accept my deepest sympathies.
If you actually bought the Core i7 870, please also accept my deepest sympathies. At the start of 2010, you could expect to pay around $280 for the 860, and $550 for the 870! Is there something, I’m missing? If so, please share. Otherwise, I see a huge problem with those numbers.

Thank you very much, I’ve found this very nice!
great post as usual!
Dude, this is a great article! Thanks for all the hard work. I couldn’t figure out why my temps were so high when I tried to overclock. After turning off hyperthreading it’s like night and day.
Just a question but why does the final screen grab say Intel Core i5?
That’s how Core Temp read the i7, as of version 0.99.5
photobucket has blocked the images, can you fix this or add a text based settings list?
thanks.
